Often ask me visitors of my blog if I can inform them when I wrote a new article. Therefore I wanna explain the use of RSS-Feeds and bring this easy and extremely useful function closer to you. Feeds are a simple way to subscribe the regular posts at 99% of all blogs, so Feeds are not just applicable at Halle-Fotos.de, but also at the most other websites. So if you already know how to use Feeds you can stop reading here.

To make this post as comprehensible as possible, I will not explain the technical details of RSS-Feeds. So, the most important thing for Feed-Subscribers is the Feedreader – a small software which you need to read the newest posts on your favorite websites.

Necessary steps to use RSS-Feeds

1. The Feed-Reader

I personally use RSS-Feeds since I switched my email client software from Microsoft Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird, because this email client is not only a great piece of software to receive emails, it is also great to subscribe Feeds. And the best thing is; I do not had to change my habits with Thunderbird, because reading Feeds is with Thunderbird as easy as reading emails. In the meantime supports also the successor of Outlook Express, the Windows Live Mail Feeds and also the fee required version of Microsoft Outlook. Of course, there are many other good Feed-Readers. Here is a small list of Feed-Agregators.

2. Subscribe the Feed

When you have the right Feed-Reader, you have to take a look at the website, you wish to subscribe and search for the Feed-Icon or a text link. The Icon looks like this icon below, but can have different sizes and colors.

Behind this symbol should be a link to the RSS-Feed, which you have to copy in your Feed-Agregator. Thats all!

Now your Feed-Reader takes the regulary posts from my site or other ones which you subscribed and  you will never miss a new article. The general advantage of Feeds is that they are 100%  spam free, because you do not have to enter your email address, and compared with a normal newsletter, is it impossible that your Spamfilter catches your newsletter emails.
